Summer Bridge Program

West Virginia University at Parkersburg is instituting a new program to prepare students for success.  Given that all degree-seeking students must successfully complete a math and English requirement – and given that those courses are most frequently cause failure and discouragement – WVUP is instituting a six-week summer program that gives students the opportunity to take entry-level math and English in a morning block, combining the courses with co-requisite labs, College 101, tutoring, great teaching, and bonding/collaboration activities. The course will be offered for the first time in Summer 2017 at the same time the College fully implements Guided Pathways for Success.
