Mountwest CTC held the first ever West Virginia Game Developers Expo on September 30th 2016. This event was the first of its kind in West Virginia and the surrounding Tri-State area. The event was a huge success with high school and College students, as well as general public, in attendance. The focus of the expo was to help inform and inspire the WV area of the various opportunities within the Game Development industry. A huge focus was on becoming indie-developers, essentially entrepreneurs creating their own mobile games/apps and also console and PC based games. Exhibitors and sponsors from various local and regional IT businesses were on hand, several of which were recruiting potential employees. Along with local and regional businesses, we had a Keynote Speaker from Unity Technologies come and present.
